We get asked lots of questions here at the Academy so we thought we could include some of the most common to help you with your answers. 

20-week Beauty Therapy Courses

What are the hours?

The courses run from 10 am – 4 pm each day with a ½ hour lunch break.

Do I need to purchase anything?

No, whilst at the Beauty Academy, you will be using our collection of products which includes OPI, Mac and other market-leading brands. For some courses, you will be provided with a small selection to practice at home.

Do I need previous experience?

Most of our 20-week beauty courses are suitable for beginners. Our only course not suitable is Nail Services as this requires you to hold the prerequisite of our nail technology course or equivalent.

Are you open during the school holidays?

Unlike beauty colleges, Foundations beauty Academy is open throughout all school holidays.

Can I complete more than one course at a time?

Unfortunately no, but you are able to access up to four learner loans, and our courses roll continually through the year meaning you can sign up for another after your course completion.

Are your courses accredited?

Yes. All four diploma’s which we offer, Nail Technology, Nail Services, Beauty Massage and Makeup are VTCT accredited and recognised by employees and insurance companies to practice.

Is there a minimum age?

Foundations Beauty Academy offers adult education and as a result, you must be 19 or older to study one of our courses.


One Day Beauty Training Courses

What are the start and finish times?

One day courses run 10 am – 4 pm with a ½ hour lunch.

Half day courses run 10 am - 1 pm.

Lash tint 9.30 am - 11.30 am

Do I need a model?

Yes, you will require a model for all of our one-day courses except Lash Lift. The times that the model is required is as follows,
Precision Brows  – 10.30 am – 4 pm
Spray Tan – 10.30 am – 4 pm
Evening Makeup – 10.30 am – 4 pm
Individual Eyelashes – 1 pm – 4 pm
Gel Polish - 10.30 am – 4 pm
Waxing – 10.30 am – 4 pm
Facials – 10.30 am – 4 pm
Tint - 10.30 am - 12.30pm 
Henna Brows - 10.30 am - 1 pm

Is a kit provided to take home?

To complete the course our stock of beauty equipment is used. The Precision Brows, Lash Lift, Henna Brows and Individual Eyelash Extension Courses require case studies to be completed at home following the course and submitted for assessment. We provide you with what you need to do this.

A LashBase kit is provided for the Lash Lift and Individual Eyelash Extensions courses and a selection of industry leading essential beauty products for Precision Brows. For the Facials course, a kit is provided which is used in the training and can then be taken home to use for treatments with clients. The kit provided with the Henna Brows course will allow 50 sets of Henna Brows to be completed following the training. 

Are these courses suitable for beginners?

Yes, all our one-day courses are suitable for beginners and are perfect for both beauty professionals and those wishing to learn a new skill to carry out treatments on themselves and friends and family. Please note the Henna Brows requires you to have some prior brow shaping experience.

Are these courses accredited?

Yes, all one-day courses are ABT accredited. By completing your course with us you are eligible to receive a 10% discount your insurance with them as a result.

How do I secure my place?

To secure your spot you must pay 20% of the course value in advance via card, BACS or cash in the academy, with the remainder being paid on the day. There are a couple of courses which are an exception due to the substantial kit being provided. We can advise you on what deposit is required for each course.
